This was presented to Charles Brown Macfarlane and Christina Smith on the occasion of their Golden Wedding. It reads :

1866 June 1916

We congratulate you our dear and valued friends Mr and Mrs Charles Macfarlane upon the celebration of your Golden Wedding. From May 1875 till Octr 1894 You were most closely associated with our dear Father and Mother and with our most happy childhood and youth at Mugdock and the recollection of your kindness, care, and sympathy are always with is, in most affectionate memory. Since then the friendship has never flagged and we trust it never will, in the years, we hope still to have you amongst us.
