This Thomson family group is on Douglas side of the family.

I have recently made acquaintance with a cousin, George Thomson, who has done a huge amount of research on the Thomson line, dating back to 1480!

He had never seen this photo but with the help of a cousin was able to provide me with all the names.

Shown are Granny Thomson (nee Margaret Stewart) with son John Ralph on her knee, Amelia, Helen (sitting) with Maggie behind and lastly Mary (who later married John Sadler) at the end. This photo would have been taken around 1893.

George pointed out the "mutch" Granny Thomson is wearing. He says that all women over 40 would wear such a type of head covering.
